BYRON CENTER, August 14, 2026 — Pioneer Construction stood alongside the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) last week for Take a Stand Day, the state’s annual construction safety stand-down. This year’s message was direct: Don’t fall for shortcuts.
Our commitment to safety was front and center as we joined the statewide effort to promote workplace safety. During the stand-down, our team paused active work to discuss why cutting corners is never worth the risk, even when a shortcut seems like it would save only a few minutes.
Shortcuts are where accidents start. A skipped harness check, a rushed rigging job or an ignored barricade can turn an ordinary task into a life-altering incident in seconds. That is why Take a Stand Day exists: to give crews a dedicated moment to step back and recommit to doing the job the safe way, not just the fast way.
Pioneer Construction remains dedicated to fostering a culture of safety on every project, every day. Safety is a shared responsibility, and together, we can prevent accidents before they happen. Thank you to everyone who joined us in recommitting to safety first.
