GRAND RAPIDS, July 17, 2025 — Pioneer Construction’s steel erection team successfully lifted the pedestrian sky bridge into place at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. The bridge will connect Mary Free Bed to the Joan Secchia Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture with Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
This milestone marks a key step forward in the expansion of pediatric rehabilitation services in Grand Rapids. The bridge structure includes approximately 135 tons of steel and was installed with precise coordination by Pioneer’s self-perform steel team.
